Here are 10 travel destinations that should be on anyone’s list!
1. The Oregon Coast
This part of the country offers an incredible combination of sightseeing along the coastline and excellent trails for hiking. If hiking is not your thing, you can take in the scenery by driving along the Oregon Coast Highway. Cape Kiwanda, Cape Lookout and Cape Meares are all excellent spots to check out the amazing coastline and blue pacific waters. They are included in what’s known as the Three Capes Scenic Drive that also has plenty of bed and breakfasts when you’re done sightseeing.
2. Glacier National Park
With a 4.8-star average rating on Google reviews from over 10,000 users, you know you won’t be disappointed by this 1,583-square-mile park located in Montana. You can see plenty of mountain peaks and clear lakes from your car, or you can bring your backpack to enjoy over 700 miles of hiking trails. If you love the great outdoors, this summer destination is hard to beat.
3. Las Vegas
Everyone should go to Las Vegas at least once in their life just to experience this place. It’s most famous for “The Strip,” which is a two-and-a-half-mile long stretch of Las Vegas Boulevard. It’s lined with an array of restaurants, hotels, and an incredible number of entertainment businesses of all types many with their own unique theme. With themed hotels and resorts such as The Venetian Hotel, The Paris Hotel and Casino, and the Luxor, you may think you were in Italy, France or Egypt. Needless to say, if you have money you can afford to lose, you’ll want to visit any of its well over 100 casinos.
If you’re a young adult who still likes to indulge the little kid in you, Orlando, Florida may be the best place on earth to do this. You and some friends will enjoy Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom attractions. SeaWorld is an unforgettable visit with its large aquariums and seemingly unending variety of sea life. The dolphins, as always, are the star of the show at this park. Of course, if you have kids, this amazing destination will give them wonderful memories for the rest of their lives.
5. New York City
Known as the city that never sleeps, it probably has a greater variety of destinations to enjoy than any other place on this list. Its astounding combination of art, culture, history, museums and amusement park attractions is why this is one city you should definitely have on your summer travel plans. For outdoor sights, you’ll want to check out Central Park, The Bronx Zoo and New York Botanical Garden. For museums, see the latest in artistic culture at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and don’t even think about not checking out the American Museum of Natural History with its giant replica of a blue whale hanging from the ceiling. This entire article would have to be about New York City to cover all the excellent sites here.
At least half of the recommended tourist destinations on Maui are beaches, and this should come as no surprise. Its endless beaches with shimmering, clear water are the primary attraction for the three million visitors who come here each year. That being said, if you do want a change of pace, you can always visit Haleakalā National Park, hike along Iao Valley or get a bird’s eye view of the beauty and splendor of this island from an Air Maui Helicopter Tours flight. Its unforgettable beauty will stay with you for the rest of your life.
This city that is known for a depressing amount of rainfall annually is drier than usual in the summer. Pike Place Market is perhaps its most famous tourist attraction. Started in 1907, it’s the oldest continuously operating public farmers’ market in the country. It offers far more than produce with a maze of unique restaurants and shops offering crafts, antiques and collectibles. Seattle also has the Space Needle for unrivaled views of the city and the Museum of Pop Culture, The Museum of Flight and the Pacific Science Center.
8. San Francisco
Take advantage of the nice weather this city offers to enjoy the food and fun at Pier 39 and then go to Chinatown to step into a different culture. After gazing at the giant redwood trees at Muir Woods National Monument, you can watch the sun setting over the Golden Gate Bridge. Then wind down at the end of your day of sightseeing by enjoying cocktails at the bars in the Union Square neighborhood and enjoy dancing at the nightclubs in the SoMa neighborhood.
9. Yellowstone National Park
In 1872, Yellowstone became the first national park established in the United States. With over four million visitors annually, this enormous 3,500 square-mile national park is mostly in Wyoming but sprawls over into Montana and Idaho as well. If you are a nature lover, it’s impossible not to be impressed by the sheer number and variety of canyons, rivers, forests, animal species, hot springs and, of course, the geysers that it’s famous for. The summer is the only time to visit this destination since July and August are the only months when all the roads and facilities are open and available.
10. Grand Canyon
We’ve saved the grandest destination for last. At 277 miles in length and 18 miles wide at its widest point, there is simply nothing like the Grand Canyon anywhere else on earth. Officially considered one of the seven natural wonders of the world, it shares this distinction with Mount Everest and the Great Barrier Reef. With donkey ride tours that take you down into it, the beautifully colored, naturally etched rocks really put the “sight” into this sightseeing attraction.
If you’re going to be hitting the road and making your way to any of these awesome destinations, you might want to think about bringing along some swimwear. When the weather gets warm there’s nothing better than enjoying the sun with some Tropical Penguin Clothing. So make your plans and get to shopping!
